Sandwich, Hormones, and the Embarrassment of Needing Support
Hi!!!!
I took my mom to my daughter's Mom's weekend at MIZZOU. I was in the middle of a sandwich, if you know what I mean. And speaking of...Sandwich is one of my all-time favorite books by NY Times bestselling author Catherine Newman, who is the guest on the 🔗 Peripeteia Podcast this week!!!
And not only that, I got to meet her in person (with my mom). So yeah. I can only go down from here, quite honestly. Catherine is also sober. She's never talked about it as much as she did on my podcast, and it is a treasure. She is as good at speaking as she is at writing. You must 🔗 listen to this one.
This week we talked about Human Design on our group call. The April masterclass on this topic by Dupe Witherick is still available until the end of May if you are interested. It feels complicated and like a mystery to me still, tbh, but many people (including some INSIDERS) swear by it. I can see the value in having an understanding about yourself and giving yourself permission to be yourself. I have so much more to learn about this.
Our new May masterclass is with Elly Young on hormone health. We will be discussing it at the end of the month as a group, but next week on our group call we are either going to talk about worry or weather triggers. I am polling the insiders, and so far worry is winning.

I am constantly improving everything around here, so you might notice some website updates, gamification in the Insider App, improved onboarding, and more. I've gotten some feedback that a few links weren't working. My apologies. If you've been looking for the Free Spoil Yourself Sober Masterclass, you can get it 🔗 here. 💅🏼 Insider member Jen, who totally gets this philosophy, says, "I'm trying to remember to always be a little bit too much." I really feel like the student became the teacher here and I am proud as a peacock. 🦚
I offered a great speaking opportunity to my 🔗 Alcohol-Free Entrepreneur Mastermind Group, and two retreat opportunities to my 🔗 Insider Membership. Whether you are a coach or AF leader looking for a business community or a sober or sober-curious woman looking for a sisterhood, I've got you! There are more discounts, connection opportunities, and value on my app and in my community. There's a 🔗 Free 7-Day Trial and you can cancel anytime. No offense taken by me! I just can't recommend trying it enough. It is literally free, risk-free, and so much value.
I am trying two new communities myself this month. I am taking the leap and walking the walk alongside you. I am very resistant to community. I don't know why, when it's so helpful, but I guess it's like so embarrassing to admit you need others or that maybe you don't know everything or even that you could use some support. Ugh. Hate that. I am trying to get over myself and open up. I am trying to let myself be imperfect, not know it all (damn), and receive (hard). Work in progress.
I'll leave you with this message straight from the INSIDER community to give you a preview of what can happen when you surround yourself with others working towards the same goals. I am biased, but I have the best group. No contest. Or as the Giggly Squad says, "No notes."
Hi ladies- I’m just posting that I’m 250 Days Alcohol Free!! 🩷😍🥰👊🏻💃🏻👑🌺
I just have to stop and think about that for a second because at one time, alcohol was center stage in my life. I don’t miss the depression, dread, anxiety, shame, boredom, sadness, and crippling hangovers. I’ve traded those in for contentment, joy, faith, freedom, self-forgiveness, and optimism. Not every day feels exactly like that, but most days are GOOD! Ps/ I’m liking myself too! - Mary
XO!

p.s. you can always schedule a 🔗 complimentary call with me.
