Make Something Good Come From This
Short and sweet this week as I am not feeling well and processing the death of my stepmom, Cheryl, who passed away early this week. She was a good stepmom who loved my dad (even after they divorced), German Shepherds, and baking. Her favorite dessert was German chocolate cake. She introduced me to both, which I then combined to Cheryl's German Shepherd Cake! She taught me many things and she will be missed.
I'll be sharing more but for now, I want to be there for my baby sisters, who are 10 and 12 years younger than me. They are now orphans and although they are grown adult women, I feel more protective (and sad) than ever as a big sis.
My dad's death marked the beginning of the end of my drinking years ago, and I am proud to say sobriety has given me the strength and compassion to navigate grief in the most profound ways.

I couldn't be more proud to share this week's Peripeteia Podcast Episode with guest Christina Zaleski, known to me as Cousin Christi (sometimes Crusty). Christi is a breast cancer survivor, a cancer fighter, a mother, and a genetics counselor. She was one of my very first best friends.
Get ready for a heartwarmingāand hilariousāconversation. Christi opens up about her incredible journey from diagnosis to recovery, sharing how humor, resilience, and the support of her community helped her through the toughest times.

This episode is full of laughs, real talk, and the power of friendship and community. You wonāt want to miss Christiās moving story and the lessons it brings.
