Everything you Need
This will be my last newsletter of the year. I finished my annual daily devotional this morning. This feels like a great place to wind down and pause before Dry January. I've shared before how I block my calendar on Mondays so I can ease into the week.
This has been a game-changing practice for me in business and in life. It's the opposite of "never miss a Monday." I get the value in that statement too, but for me, a slow, intentional start works best. I prioritize connection with myself and my source before I put anything out into the world each day, each week, and each year. I want to live aligned with my highest potential, and I can only do this by hearing myself first.
The most important thing in my sobriety, my business, and my life is my relationship to myself. It must always come first. I run my life; my life doesn't run me. I run my business; my business doesn't run me.
Except sometimes, honestly, it does. Sometimes I spin my wheels. Sometimes I fall into the trap of comparison. Sometimes, I operate on fear and scarcity. This is exactly why I have to sit still and remember.
This is how I will start the new year. Quietly. By taking the first week off of my screens and into my heart. I know it's audacious when Dry January kicks off, and I'm a sober coach. Still, I want to be, well...still.
I want to focus on my highest intentions, my greatest good, and my truest purpose. I do not want to add noise to an already extra-loud atmosphere.
I want to show myself and other business owners that it is possible to do what you love, take care of yourself, and stay tuned into what led you into this heart-centered business in the first place.
What good is it to meet your business goals when you are nearly killing yourself to do it? I refuse to operate in this way of hustle, hustle, more, never enough. It comes so naturally for me, though. I am good at the hustle. I am actively moving myself away from it and redirecting myself toward something else.
It's hard. Fidgety, to say the least. Wanting immediate gratification, affirmation, more dophamine hits, more likes, more loves, more attention, more success, more achievement, bigger goals, faster speed. I don't know how to sit still, so here my work begins. But maybe can you go give me exta love everywhere on social media for my ego anyway?
I love this time of year with prepping my clients for year-end and new beginnings. We are celebrating so many milestone wins this week, everywhere from 31, 82, 112, 350 days to over 500, to name just a few. We are succeeding in being alcohol-free at holiday parties, networking events, family visits, steak dinners, and more.
I love hosting Christmas (I finally get to make a big patch of those potatoes that no one asked for on Thanksgiving, LOL). My oldest is home from college. We are crafting, shopping, wrapping, holidaying, baking, and more. I love the holidays, the change of seasons, and the celebrations. I want to be fully in it. I love the memory-making. Please God get my face out of my phone and my worry off my analytics with an insatiable desire to always be topping everything I've ever done.
I am learning to sit still and take it all in. I am learning to be here while I am here. I am learning what matters, and it isn't my fragile ego that's always chasing, begging, and more. She's insane. So insecure. Defensive. Competitive. Omg. How's yours?
Losing my stepmother and my friend Jennifer has changed me once again. With my limited time here, I want to be fully here. Like meditation, it's not that I don't get distracted; it's that I have the power to keep bringing myself back to me. This will be my continued practice in 2025.
I planned ahead to offer you everything you need and every resource you can imagine. If you want 1x1 support in 2025, schedule your complimentary call now. Limited spots available.
